To: Narcissa Black Location: Slytherin dorms From: Bellatrix Black Location: Downtown London Attached to the parcel is a silk green head scarf for all occasions, purchased with love.
Oh, Cissy, mother's being horrible again. Do you know she wants to come spend the weekend with me in my new flat? Apparently we don't spend enough time together, and she's basically throwing herself at me... Doesn't that seem a little strange to you?
I wonder if she's dying. Not that I'm hopeful or anything. ...
Other than that things have been going well. I went shopping the other day after I took some money out of father's vault... I doubt he'll notice. Anyway, I bought some new furniture for my apartment, and it's really looking quite wonderful. During the summer you should come live with me... Though I expect you'll want your own flat, seeing as you'll be graduating in a year. It feels wonderful to be free from that school, you'll see it soon.
How is it being back? There are times when I miss wouldn't mind seeing what has changed in the old prison we call Hogwarts. Who is the Head Girl this year? I hope you stepped up and took the opportunity for it. Really, as the final Black at Hogwarts - Sirius hardly counts, and Rabastan is too young for anyone to care about - you need to leave a legacy for us.
I think that Lestrange fellow may try to court me. How strange, no? I need to find a more blunt approach to telling him to bugger off, as I'm not interested. Boys. They're all useless, you know. Try to keep a clear head this year! Andromeda is no longer there to watch you for me, and I do worry about you don't want you making us look silly.
Write back soon.
Bella xx.
PS - I thought the scarf would look nice with your complexion. Wear it however you see fit.

Bella, I am glad it is not only I who have noticed a slight change in our mother, while she is not that bad with me she has started up her whole "protection" routine now that you and Andromeda are not around anymore, she has even taken to caring for father more than usual and you know what she was like when it came to making him care for himself or getting the house elves to do it. I am sure he won't notice the missing money though, its not like you can stand there and count the galleons acurately. I would love to visit, perhaps during the holidays or something, we'll work it out we always do. Being back? Well its rather pointless if you ask me, the tests and exams and so forth are rather useless. You mean that you haven't heard yet? Mother and Father found out when I got the letter, the Headmaster has made me Head Girl for this year!!!! A legacy? You must have something in mind to suggest that and I quite agree that Sirius could never be counted as a Black, lets just hope that Andromeda has changed her attitude back to what it use to be. Who? Rudolphus? Why don't you just agree, hes pureblooded, hes rich and, if I do say so myself, he is rather good looking but if you really don't like him threaten to Cruciate him or something, that always was your specialty. While we're on that topic however, I met up with none other than Lucius Malfoy in the Leaky Cauldren while I was home for a weekend! Can you believe it? This time it was mere coincidence as well. And don't think that I would ever do anything to jeapodise the name of Black, after all as Aunt Walburga says, to be a Black makes you practially royal. Thanks for the scarf, its wonderful. Cissy xxx

I should imagine she's being worse with you, seeing as you're the baby of the family. It was pretty bad with me, since I was the first to leave the nest, as she so affectionately calls it... I don't think she put too much of an effort into Andromeda. You know, I barely speak to that sister of ours. Apparently she is seeing someone, but she won't tell me who. It's not like I'll blab it to anyone - aside from you, that is. She says I'm a gossip. Baha. Like she's worth my time to gossip about.
Yes, the last year of school seems like a bit of a waste, but stick it out. My friends and I, back in the day, found a loose cabinet in Slughorn's room where he kept his expensive scotches and such... They helped more than anyone was willing to admit. On second thought, no. Ignore that. I don't want you drinking, Cissy - you're too young. I wasn't home when you received your letter, you dolt - congratulations on becoming Head Girl! I think it suits you. Now, be sure to take away lots of points from those Gryffindors, and do whatever you can to make sure Slytherin wins this year. In my year, we lost to the damn Hufflepuffs by ten points because some git deducted a slew of points in our last classes.
Ugh. Only you would think he's attractive, Narcissa Araminta Black. Rodolphus seems boring, though we share some similar ... activities, I suppose, so I may end up letting him buy me dinner one night, should I feel the need to have someone spoil me. He is rich... Hmm. And what do you mean "this time". Cissy, how often are you actually around Mr. Lucius Malfoy?
Write back.

FROM: Narcissa Black Slytherin Dorms, Hogwarts Bella, Well thankfully she is not worse with me at the moment but that is not saying that she won't start up again soon, why do you think I'd rather sit in the middle of the Leaky Cauldren than stay at home while she is in one of her "moods". I doubt many will put effort into Andromeda though, shes been a little odd lately, remember last time she was seeing someone, she couldn't wait to blab it around everywhere now shes not saying anything? Thats a bit strange to me, but then again it could have something to do with the fact that she doesn't want us to determine the personality of the person too early, remember her last? I couldn't help but remind her how pathetic he was. Anyway, shes not that interesting to gossip about in the first place, I've found more interesting things to say about a toadstool. You're starting to sound like Mother, and there is scotch in Slughorn's office? Why didn't you mention this before? I'm not a baby Bella, I'm just as old as you were when you were reaking havoc on this school, give or take a few months, I'm of age and that means that I don't need yours or mother's permission, not that I would have in the first place, but that doesn't matter now. Yes I am glad I got the position, it was either that or some idiot from Gryffindor, I don't know how to go about deducting points but I am sure that Sirius has a few deductions coming his way. While we're on that topic theres a little gossip running around here that happens to be true, you remember his friend Lupin? Well he has finally found himself a girlfriend, its that Skeeter girl from Ravenclaw, you should have heard the way she was talking about him, it made me sick, I'm suprised I didn't chuck up my butterbeer. Well he is good looking, you can't deny it Bella, and yes most of them are rich and rich equals money which equals luxury, you can't tell me that you don't want some rich pureblood doting on you for the rest of your life, who doesn't? On the topic of Lucius however, I have not seen him much since he left the school last year, I'm allowed to attempt to get what I want, am I not? Anyway, I'm going to go for a walk in the grounds, the days been boring and I think I owe it to myself to catch wrongdoers (in other houses of course) Cissy xxx

Don't get me started on mother's 'moods', otherwise you may get a five or six page letter of me ranting about that woman. Really. She hasn't told you about who she's shagging then either? Maybe it's not even a proper relationship... You know Andromeda is perfect at everything, so I can see why she would want to keep a fling secret from the rest of the family. She probably thinks she'll no longer be the favourite, and will have to seriously put an effort into competing with you. There's no way mother would see me as the favourite, so it's up to you two. Oh dear, I've gone off on a tangent again. You know, I find I do that when I write to you... Babbling about pointless things.
No, Cissy, I don't want you drinking. Knowing you, you'll be some lightweight who'll get drunk and then some stupid boy will come along and take advantage of you, and then you'll cry to me. Should you drink the scotch in Slughorn's cabinet, which is hidden in his office, do it with your mates. No boys. That includes Lucius Malfoy. He'll be no good for you, Cissy, and I don't want you to consider him.
Ugh, that dorky little Lupin boy has a girlfriend? Who would take him? I don't remember anyone by the name of Skeeter, but I didn't really pay much attention to any of the Ravenclaws while I was at school. Dating seems like a waste while in school - boys don't even know what to do with you, Cissy, trust me.
Lestrange may be rich, but I need someone entertaining. He can be dull from time to time, but I will keep you updated on our happenings. He shows up at random places, and then has the nerve to accuse me of stalking him! The sheer nerve!
Be sure to deduct points from Hufflepuffs too... As I recall, none of them will have the nerve to fight back. Gryffindors may be a bit more of a hassle, though I get the feeling you will enjoy making them suffer more than any other house.
Bella xx.

Bella, Andromeda and fling don't go in the same sentence together, as for trying to compete with me I am sure that mother will always pride herself in dear Andromeda, even if Sirius does like her better, everyone likes her better. Its not my fault you go on tangents, you need to keep your mind on the topic, I've always said it (ok so thats hardly true but I had to say it anyway - now look whose driving me on a tangent). I'm of age Bella, and who said that I was going to drink that much, I'm not you? I doubt I would go for the scotch anyway, I can hardly stand the taste of the stuff, firewhisky does me better. As for Lucius there is nothing wrong with him, hes rather charming and how do you know I haven't already considered him? He's left the school anyway so its hard to catch up with him these days, even if he does spend most of his time sitting at home doing nothing, he is another whose rich enough to do that. Yes, he has a girlfriend, she was practically bragging about it in the three broomsticks and I couldn't get away from her, its not like i was interested in her love life anyway and she (Skeeter) is one of those girls whose in that little fan club of Sirius'. Again while we are talking of that no good cousin of ours, he is hardly quick enough to dodge a slap across the back of the head, which he rightly got for destroying my leisure time. Just because you're era of guys knew nothing doesn't mean that mine does, even if there is only a year or two difference. Now thats funny! I still reckon go for it, or just squeeze what you can out of him for one night and then chuck him to the curb, say he wasn't your type or something, would you rather end up with some poor halfblood like Lupin? I am sure mother would have a field day with that! Well I already have pleasure in using my positions against the Gryffindors, have since I was made a prefect, Hufflepuffs are pushovers, its too easy to make them loose, its Potter and Sirius I want to catch, they cause a lot of trouble so no-one would ask twice about me deducting points from them. Anyway I am sure you are bored with my ranting and such forth so I'll write again soon, I hope Your Sister, Cissy
