It was a rather warm afternoon and Narcissa Black had decided that she was going into Diagon Alley rather than sitting around listening to the complaints that her mother was making about Andromeda these days, not that she could blame her but the complaints were getting rather repetitive. Apparating just outside the Leaky Cauldren, the entrance, she decided to sit down and have a drink before going shopping. Slowly she stepped inside, taking in the musty scent that seemed to hang around the pub these days.
As Narcissa made her way over to the bar the barkeep, Tom, sidled over to her as fast as his frail body would allow. She ordered a butterbeer, her facial expression indifferent. She moved through the groups of people to the back of the bar, sitting down and examining her nails as if they were the most interesting thing in the world, more to avoid the eye of a semi-drunken man who seemed to have been eyeing her off since she entered the bar.
Narcissa looked around her, taking in her surroundings. She looked at the many different people who had gathered here today and a small scowl appeared on her face, at leas three of them were known mudbloods and she felt sick being in the same room as them. She had a habit of doing that lately, staring at those around her, trying to determine their blood status, she didn't know why but it happened and there was no-one who would dare to contradict one of her pureblood status.
About five minutes later Tom came back with her drink, apologising for the wait and Narcissa scowled, there hadn't been much reason for anything to have delayed her drink arriving. She took a mouthful of her butterbeer before placing it on the table infront of her. She closed her eyes slightly so they burned behind their sockets, it had been a long day but it was a day of sitting around waiting, waiting for something that didn't seem to arrive. As she sat there, eyes closed, she heard a familiar voice, one that she could not completely place.

Lucius walked down the street, his dark gray eyes looking around at the people who passed him. He knew very few of them, but as though he had some kind of inner eye he could easily spot the differences between pureblood and mudblood. The way he held himself just purely showed that he was rich, powerful and pure, something that he loved to show off about.
Pausing outside the Leaky Cauldron, Lucius looked at the door, a thoughtful smirk on his face. The muggles that bustled around him on the long London street gave him a look as he stopped their path. He walked forward and pushed the door open softly, escaping the warm afternoon sun and walking into the sudden, sharp darkness of the pub. His eyes quickly adjusted, and he walked over to the main part of the bar where Tom was preparing a drink.
"Good day, Mr Malfoy," The man said, and Lucius nodded, looking around the dingy room with a critical eye. His lips curled in disgust as he noted the mudbloods and the half-bloods the littered the room. Impurity disgusted him, and he turned back to Tom.
"Is there anyone interesting in today?" He asked, and Tom smirked, a bright look in his dark eyes. He nodded eagerly, and motioned to the corner, the drink in his hand evidently for that person.
"Miss Narcissa Black is over in that corner. I suppose you would be interested in speaking to her, Mr Malfoy?" The bartender smirked as Lucius' eyes softened. It was almost common knowledge the the heir of the Malfoy legacy had a soft spot for the youngest Black girl. Tom walked out from around the bar and gestured at Narcissa. "Why not come with me and say hello, Mr. Malfoy?" Lucius nodded, and together they walked over. Tom gave the young lady a drink as Lucius watched, and she closed her eyes, resting back in her chair.
"Ahh, Narcissa," Lucius said softly, smiling down at her - a true smile, not his usual proud smirk. "It is nice to see you here. May I join you?"

((sorry its so short, my muse has kinda died))
The familiarity of Lucius' voice seemed to ring in Narcissa's ears but she could not place the person that it belonged to. She opened her eyes slowly and a smile crept onto her soft lips "certainly" she said as he asked to join her, there was no way she was going to pass up an oportunity to speak to the person she had been longing for since the day they met in the halls of Hogwarts School. While Narcissa was still at the school Lucius had left, like Bellatrix and Andromeda, and that meant that an occasion like this was rare. She took a sip of her drink and watched Lucius curiously, adjusting her position slightly so that she was sitting straighter. She noticed the smile on his face, something that she had not seen on his face often but she said nothing about it.
A small silence seemed to engulf the pair for a moment, all chatter from the others in the room seemed to be dimmed in Narcissa's ears "How have you been Lucius? It has been too long" she said softly, this was her first weekend away from the school and her house that she had been able to get since her sisters moved away from the house. She took a sip of her drink as she began to scan the room again, a bunch of people had just entered together, looking rather odd with their mixture of people. Narcissa placed her mug on the table and linked her hands under her chin, her long fingers running along the back of her hands. She looked very calm, as if she did this every day.

Lucius gave her his trademark smirk as he moved to sit down, though, on her, it was less biting and more sensual. He lent back on his chair as he sat, a silky look in his gray eyes as he watched her for a moment. Though she was a year younger than him (and still at school) Lucius had a sudden urge to whisk her away to some foreign land and never come back again. To him, she was perfection, from her shimmering hair to the designer shoes he bet she was wearing.
"I have been well," Lucius replied softly, his voice low and with an almost dangerous ring to it. "I've been spending most of my time at home, but it gets a little tedious at times. There's nothing to do unless you get a job, and I really don't want one right now," He turned to her and gave her a sort of half-smile. "How about yourself? Has school been acceptable? And most importantly," He grinned at her, teasingly. "How many of those Slytherin girls missing me, hmm?"
Of course, no one knew, but he had eyes for only one Slytherin girl.

Once again Narcissa's eyes fell on the person in front of her, it was difficult for her to look away without having the urge to focus her complete attention on Lucius once more. There was something about him that seemed to captivate her, but then again most of the girls in Slytherin would say the same thing. Whether they meant it or not was another thing entirely but for Narcissa the very presence of Lucius meant that she, unlike those other girls who fell at his feet just because they could, had the chance to go for that one thing she wanted, and she was determined not to fail.
"Yes, home life does seem to be slightly less interesting" she said, a small smile flittering across her lips, it was something she could not control, the smirks, smiles and anything else just came naturally these days. "School has been boring as ever" she said as the topic turned to the swamp of mudbloods and halfbloods that the teachers and such called a school "Slughorn still thinks that mudblood Evans should be in Slytherin, so my sources tell me, that no-good cousin of mine has a bigger fan club than ever and his friend Lupin is dating that gossip Skeeter" everything that Narcissa had found out in the last few weeks seemed to slip from her lips in order to insult the school that she had never come to consider as a second home.
"Fortunately we have a Slytherin Head Girl this year" she said, feeling that it would at least give a little decency to the year "and to be honest I can't wait to leave" she added, there was something cold in her voice when she spoke of the school, like ice that stuck to your tongue in the Winter. She had noted the teasing grin that seemed to play on his lips and, funnily enough, thought of it as she replied "I can't answer for that little fan club of yours but I know of one who is missing you" at this she took another sip of her drink, a smirk appearing and then fading as she did.

"Skeeter and Lupin? I thought she had a little more taste. She was always clever, that girl.. Hm.." Lucius pondered to himself for a moment, and then smirked, turning back to the woman that always seemed to grab his attention. She was so beautiful it made his heart almost skip a beat. Almost. He rested back in his chair and gave Narcissa the most attractive smile he could muster - which had rendered many a girl to a gaping, speechless shell.
"The head girl wouldn't be you, by any chance, would it?" Lucius asked teasingly, knowing this fact almost for certain. Narcissa was a brilliant woman, after all. "And it is a shame about your cousin. He could have been a very goo young man. It is disgusting that he was sorted into Gryffindor.
"Ah, my fan club. They must be feeling terrible that I have left them! But there is a specific girl that misses me? Who could that be, Narcissa? I am curious, dear." At Hogwarts, Lucius had always addressed the girls as "hon" or something akin to it. Dear was a lot more... personal, to him. It was what his father had called his mother before she'd passed away.

"Yes, well, they always said the Ravenclaws were the intelligent bunch but now I am starting to doubt that" she said, taking a small sip of the drink in front of her which seemed to have cooled a fair bit since the conversation had started. It did not bother her, however, she merely pushed the mug away and turned her attention back to Lucius once more. The smile on his face left her cheeks burning slightly and she knew that she was beginning to blush. She had learnt to control most of her emotions, keep them in check, even hide them if she wished to but for some reason it was proving impossible at this point.
A smirk played lightly on Narcissa's lips as she responded "how did you guess?" she asked, knowing full well that she had made it rather obvious. Dispite that most people expected it, she had been a prefect in her fifth and sixth years and, for some reason, she had managed to convince the Professors that she desired nothing but house unity, oh how gullible they had become, the headmaster believing any story that someone spun out for him. A rather disgusted look appeared on her face at the mention of Sirius "yes, well, he disregards everything that holds our family together" she said "Regulas is a better man that he would ever have been and Reg is too young to be considered important" in the family's eyes, that was saying something but Narcissa kept those points to herself.
Whenever her cousin, Sirius, was mentioned something came over Narcissa, her tone changed and each word she spoke was spoken as if she was trying to rid the taste of some foul poison from her lips. Dispite this, however, she did not lose the elegence and grace that was befitting her role in pureblood society, one that she had always admired in her sister, Bellatrix, and one she naturally posessed as she got older.
Narcissa bit her bottom lip rather elegently, it was something she did out of habit these days but seemed to fit into her role of innocence rather well. "Your fan club will move on" she said, it was a throw away comment of no real importance but she said it anyway. The light pink that had spred across her cheeks returned, however, as she continued to speak, something that she wasn't aware of. She noted the use of the word 'dear', something she had never heard slip from his lips before but she did not linger on it "and here I was thinking that it would be plainly obvious" she teased, she knew he had picked up on it but said nothing "Me, naturally" her voice was soft, barely louder than a whisper but just loud enough for Lucius to hear.
This was the first time she had openly admitted that she had feelings for Lucius, at least in her own, rather different way. It was plain to see for anyone who took any interest in the situation but few people, with exclusion to Bellatrix and, perhaps, the odd one of her friends, had ever heard her admit it, even in this manner, which was as open as she had been. A small smirk appeared on her lips, barely noticable as she thought back to her conversations with Bellatrix which always ended with Bella saying the same thing No boys. That includes Lucius Malfoy. He'll be no good for you, Cissy, and I don't want you to consider him.. She turned her ice blue eyes back to Lucius as a thought slipped through her mind show's what you know, Bella.

"Evidently all things concerning those little brain boxes is wrong, then. That's seven years of hard work down the drain really, isn't it? What a waste of good meal time." Snapping his fingers in mock frustration, Lucius watched Narcissa. She took a sip of her evidently cold drink, and his gray eyes sparkled with humor. A small blush had spread across her cheeks, and it made him want to lean over and give her something to blush about. Narcissa was always in control, just like he was, but everyone had moments of weakness. Why was hers so adorable?
"A little bird told me," Lucius replied mockingly, a small, teasing smile on hims lips to show her he was kidding. "Of course it would be you, Narcissa, dear. You were always the most intelligent, beautiful woman in our house, so it's natural you would get the position. I suppose Dumbledore believed that you were all for getting the houses together and making them have unity? That's how I got my position, you know." Lucius smirked, but it fell into a deep frown at the thought of Narcissa's cousins.
"Sirius never was worthy enough to be a member of your family, my dear. From the moment I saw him, I could tell there was something wrong about him. Regulus, however, is a brilliant young man. I can see him coming far, you know. He could be very powerful in this world, very powerful indeed..." Lucius trailed off, looking over and watching Narcissa with a soft look in his eyes that would worry most people.
"Oh, they had better cope," Lucius said off-handedly. "I'm never going back to that place, not ever for a visit.." Unless someone special wanted me to, his mind added. He looked over at her and caught her teasing smile, and it made his heart melt. Her next words warmed his heart. "You, Narcissa, are missing me? Now that is a surprise..." Without warning, Lucius moved swiftly, taking hold of one of Narcissa's hands, wrapping his arm around her waist, and pulled her close so that she was almost sitting on his knee. He looked down at her, fire burning in his eyes.
"You will be happy to know, then," Lucius said softly, smiling down at her. "That I have missed you too. It was the one reason I didn't want to leave Hogwarts - I was leaving you," Leaning down, Lucius kissed her, drawing her close with the arms wrapped tightly around her.

Narcissa said nothing, a soft laugh passed her lips but her mind seemed to drift in and out of the conversation. She was now horribly aware of the pink tinge in her cheeks though she ignored it, perhaps if she didn't think about it then it would go away, yes that was it, ignore anything weak and it should retreat. Somewhere deep in the labyrinth that was her mind at this point, however, she knew that this plan would not work and, undoubtedly, Lucius had already noticed, something that she found him to be quick in discovering. Why was it that the moment you wanted the most control was the moment you had hardly any control at all.
"Dumbledore always was an old fool" she said in a tone that suggested it was just a passing comment. She notice the expression of a gentleman in the table next to theirs change as she said this but she paid him no attention, giving herself mental praise for getting even such a small reaction from soneone. She had neither confirmed nor denied how she had gotten the position but if you looked at the Slytherins each and every one, well most of them, has similar traits and similar ideas, it was what unified Slytherin against the rest of the school.
Narcissa nodded, her face was unreadable but it was evident that she had something against the oldest of her two cousins "Regulas is babied too much, the moment that Walburga lets him live will be the moment he will have the chance to be more than he is" she said, thinking to the way that her aunt looked after the youngest of her sons. Yes, Regulas was intelligent and yes he held the so-called prejudice beliefs of the family but his mother would never let him become what he was destined to be, at least thats how it had always appeared to Narcissa.
Narcissa remained unreadable as she listened to Lucius' first comment, there was something about the way in which he said it that meant she was finally getting somewhere, even if she wasn't sure what the final destination was at this point, nor what she wanted. Her face burned slightly as she blushed once more, he had pulled her over to him. A thought crept across her mind that perhaps this was a dream, perhaps she was really back in her dormitory or in her bedroom at her parents place.
She was taken by suprise as Lucius' lips pressed against hers, there was a swooping sensastion in the pit of her stomach. After the initial shock had worn off, which was in about three seconds by her count, Cissy gently kissed him back, feeling herself drawn closer and absent mindedly drawing her hand up to rest at the back of his neck. Her dreams never had such detail, it had to be real.

Lucius pulled away and stared down at the young woman before him, a small smirk on his face. Well, both their feelings were obvious now, and, wrapping an arm around her, tighter than before, Lucius pulled the young woman so close there was little between them. Was this love, the thing that his father spoke of with ridicule, the thing that his mother had been desperately searching for? Lucius didn't know, but he knew that he liked being around Narcissa, and he was rather fond of the taste of her lips and the feel of her beside him.
"Well, darling," Lucius said softly, bringing her close and kissing her forehead lightly, a soft tenderness in his voice that would have choked him moments before. "All of my life I've been in hiding, merely wishing there was someone rather like you. Now that you're here, now that I've found you... I don't quite know what I am going to do with you," Lucius kissed her again, a tenderness flowing through him that shocked anyone that knew him. His hand moved up to tangle in her hair, and when he pulled away, began playing with the locks, wrapping it around each of his fingers in turn.
"I do hope you realise, dear, that no other man will ever touch you while I am around," Lucius muttered to her. "In fact, I am tempted to ask you to be mine alone - but not now. It is too early, and you are still at school. Therefore I am going to request we enter an exclusive relationship. You and I as a couple, dear.
"Since Hogwarts my feelings have been unclear, but when I kissed you it all seemed to come into focus, as though the evidence had been there but I had been missing the clues. You are the perfect woman for me, but I need to test myself and my heart. It is unused to all these emotions, you see." Lucius paused. How romantic he was being. The poor woman may disown him.
"Of course, this would give you bragging rights at school. Going out with me would certainly give you a hand over all the girls - imagine their envy, my love.." The word slipped out, and Lucius never wanted to take it back.
((Awww, how romantic he is, really :D ))

Narcissa was disappointed as Lucius pulled away from her, slowly opening her eyes as she felt herself being pulled closer to the man that she had been longing for, for so long, not that she would openly admit to the fact. She moved her hand from the back of his neck, gently touching his cheek with her long fingers. Her hand dropped to the more comfortable position on his shoulder when he pulled her in, kissing her forehead before he continued speaking. The softness in his voice was something that she had not heard before, at least not outside of her dreams anyway.
"All of my life I've been in hiding, merely wishing there was someone rather like you. Now that you're here, now that I've found you... I don't quite know what I am going to do with you,"
The words took Narcissa by suprise but she had barely a chance to respond when she felt his lips against hers again, his hand in her long blonde hair. Unlike the first time this kiss was more tender, softer even, something that Narcissa had never thought would come from Lucius Malfoy... In any form. When he pulled back his hand was still in her hair and she touched his cheek again, her other hand resting at the back of his neck and a small smile playing on her lips.
"I do hope you realise, dear, that no other man will ever touch you while I am around," "In fact, I am tempted to ask you to be mine alone - but not now. It is too early, and you are still at school. Therefore I am going to request we enter an exclusive relationship. You and I as a couple, dear."
It was at this point that Narcissa found her voice, the small smile still resting on her lips as she spoke, softly, barely loud enough for anyone other than Lucius to hear, though she would not care if they had at this point "and what makes you think that I want any other to touch me at all?" she asked, twisting a few strands of his hair gently through her fingers as her other hand traced over his cheek and lips, something she was completely unaware that she had been doing.
As he continued speaking Narcissa seemed lost in his words, though she would not admit to most that she would fall for such things, especially not to Bella, she might just start getting more protective if she thought that Cissy could not protect her heart as easily as she led her sister to believe. She nodded as he finished speaking and touched her lips to his in a gentle kiss, moving down his jawline til she reached his neck before moving his head slightly, her lips barely an inch from his ear "I don't need to brag, it would kill them more to find out themselves anyway and I doubt that Bella will be pleased if she hears of this... meeting"

Lucius grinned at Narcissa, bringing her close to him and wrapping his arms around her. He hold was tight, as though he never wanted to let go of her, and his head rested on top of hers. Some people looked their way, but after receiving a dark, angry glare from Lucius they quickly went back to their business. No one commented on what the son of Lord Malfoy did.
Lucius returned to Narcissa's attentions, quite content to just sit beside her in silence. It was strange for him, but he was used to feeling strange things around her. He was unused to love and tenderness, especially since his mother died, but Narcissa brought things to her that he could barely comprehend. He kissed her neck tenderly and smiled.
In reply to her comment, Lucius laughed, his hand raising to grasp hers. He kissed the long fingers, and brought them to lay on his chest, over his heart. Shaking his head, the young man looked at her with a childish gleam in his eyes that never seemed to fade away. "You are not a man, my dear," Lucius muttered softly, making sure only she could heart. "When it comes to women we tend to doubt ourselves. One must be careful."
Lucius was a slave to her smile. She could cast him away with a single look, and yet she kept him (though, secretly, he knew she couldn't resist him, really). He accepted her kiss with a happy, giddy feeling in his chest and felt a soft tickle when she moved away from his lips. He smirked at her last comment - she really was a devious woman, far to perfect for her own good.
"Perhaps I shall come into school and give you some flowers," Lucius said softly. "And a very fine necklace of some kind. I'm sure a kiss or two would show them that you're mind also." Lucius laughed to himself. "And I am not scared of Bellatrix... Much," Lucius looked away, a soft red tint on his cheeks. A person would have to be insane not to be a little scared of Bellatrix Lestrange. "But I am sure I will survive her wrath once I prove to her how I love you. She knows me well and will not doubt my feelings." It didn't even occur to Lucius that he had told Narcissa he loved her.

Narcissa closed her eyes, breathing in the scent that seemed to linger around Lucius. She could never quite place what it was but it wasn't an unpleasent smell, definately not! Lucius Malfoy would never let anything unpleasent linger around him, Narcissa was positive of that. She felt a soft kiss on her neck and a smile rested against her fine lips at the tingling sensation that ran over her skin She watched as he kissed each finger in turn, not resisting as he set it to rest against his chest. She left it there, watching her hand for a moment before his voice brought her attention back.
"I should hope I wasn't a man" she said, her voice was soft "If I was, I have no doubt that I would have a bigger fan base than most" her tone turned from soft to teasing, truth was she did think highly of her appearance, taking care in each aspect but she was not as concieted as some people made her out to be, no Bellatrix was the concieted one, at least she had been for most of her earlier teen years.
Narcissa gave a soft laugh, one that sounded like water trickling down a waterfall after the rain "I am sure that you could pull something off though I have no doubt that you will break many hearts" she said, a smirk playing on her lips that showed she was in no way worrying about the hearts of those who were less worthy "especially the fourth years, i think thats what they are anyway, they are forever talking about you" she smirked again, this time the topic drifted to Bellatrix and it was rather amusing "If there was a person in this world who was not scared of Bellatrix then I would love to see their response after spending some time with her" she said calmly
She didn't pay much attention to the last of his sentence, contenting herself with examining his features as he had done before. I love you the words rang in her ears and her attention snapped back, a look of confusion on her face, surely he couldn't have said that, no Lucius Malfoy did not turn around and tell someone he loved them after one meeting.
